The family is met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in relaxed Montevideo. Settle in with a stroll along the riverside rambla, with a welcome dinner.
A family tour of Montevideo, the old town, the port market and the beach districts, with an authentic asado barbecue lunch, a delicious Uruguayan tradition.
You travel west to colonial Colonia del Sacramento, a beautifully preserved smuggling town. Wander its cobbled streets and climb the lighthouse for river views.
A fun family day exploring Colonia by bicycle or golf cart, its plazas, colonial houses and riverside, at a wonderfully relaxed pace, with a golden sunset over the river.
You travel east across the country to Punta del Este on the Atlantic coast. Settle in and see the iconic sculpted hand rising from the beach.
A day on the coast, playing on the beaches and taking a boat trip to spot sea lions at Isla de Lobos, with time for the marina and ice cream.
A free beach day to swim, build sandcastles and relax, or an optional visit to Casapueblo or a nearby ranch, with a farewell dinner.
After breakfast the family transfers to the airport for the onward journey, full of relaxed Uruguayan fun.

- Seasons reversed: Uruguay is in the southern hemisphere, so summer (December to March) is warm and the peak beach season, especially in Punta del Este, while winter (June to August) is mild and quiet, ideal for the cities and wine country
