The family is met at the airport and driven into the highlands along the Ruta de las Flores. Settle into a highland guesthouse among the coffee towns and enjoy a welcome dinner of pupusas.
A fun day exploring the flower route's colourful mural towns and a hike to the Los Chorros de la Calera waterfalls, where the kids can swim and jump in natural pools.
You travel to the stunning turquoise crater lake of Coatepeque for a day of swimming, kayaking and lakeside lunch, then continue to the Santa Ana area for the night.
A gentle guided hike on the Cerro Verde slopes with volcano views (or the shorter Santa Ana option for older kids), spotting birds and butterflies in the cloud forest.
You visit the buried Maya village of Joya de Ceren, a real-life time capsule the kids will love, then descend to the Pacific surf coast at El Tunco for beach time.
A family surf lesson on gentle beach breaks with patient instructors, followed by an afternoon of sandcastles, rock pools and a fiery Pacific sunset.
A free beach day to swim, surf again, take an optional boat trip or turtle-hatchery visit (in season), or simply relax by the sea.
A final beach morning before transferring back to San Salvador airport for your onward flight home.
